Pure Walnut furniture – What sells? Credenza, Tables, Lamps?
My Granddad created a credenza out of pure walnut back in to 60′s. The petina is still in real good shape. It’s about 6 feet long, 2 1/2 feet high 1″ thick for all pieces, has 2 shelves (3 compartments), and 4 magnetic doors. Each door has rectangles and squares as artwork. Rectangular shelf. No angles. It also has hand made hinges.
He made another shelf with flowery artwork on the sides, also 2 shelves.
What do you think these would go for each? Again, 100% PURE 1″ thick walnut.
It’s hard to say without seeing it. It depends on a lot of things, including where you live, how big the piece is, is it a useful piece in today’s world, etc. If the piece is really out of style (which it may be given your description) that would lower the value, as would scratches, smoke smells, etc.
Sounds like it might be something to hold onto rather than sell. But a picture and a location might help us give you more of a value.
