The History of Bundt Coffee Cake and Easy Guidelines for Baking

At the request of the Hadassah society, this Minneapolis, Minnesota dweller came up with a unique cake pan. The pan became a substitute for heavy cast iron cake pans that the German immigrants used. Around the same time, the bundkuchen cakes became very popularly cooked. It went on for about sixteen years until when the Pillsbury baking contest occurred in 1966. The bundt cake made then took the second place and earned the name tunnel of fudge cake. From that moment on, these cakes became famous across the nation.
People would make virtually every type of Bundt cake including chocolate chips, coffee, plain yellow and pound cake among others. The cakes were prepared during special ceremonies like weddings and family parties. Although throughout the eighties the cakes lost popularity, the Bundt coffee cakes are good. They are sweet and simple to bake. You could make the mini Bundt cakes or any other you want. Generally, the ingredients for baking this coffee cake include the following:
• Two cups of peeled and diced apples
• Three cups of flour
• Two cups of sugar
• One cup of safflower oil
• A quarter cup of apple juice
• One and half cups of chopped walnuts
• Two tablespoons of sugar
• One teaspoon of cinnamon
• One tablespoon of baking powder
• A quarter teaspoon of salt
• Two teaspoons of vanilla and
• Four eggs
How do you prepare your bundt coffee cake? This is easy as mentioned above. It will take you a few steps to prepare and bake your cake:
• Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Grease and apply flour on your bundt pan and keep that aside.
• Using a medium sized bowl, mix your diced apples, two tablespoons of sugar and one teaspoon of cinnamon. Again, set this mixture aside.
• Sieve the flour, baking powder and salt together in a different bowl.
• In a different big bowl, mix two cups of white sugar, oil, vanilla, eggs and apple juice together. Stir or beat strongly to make it soft. Then, stir it in the flour mixture. Fold-in chopped walnuts and apple blend.
• Apply or pour batter into a prepared pan. At the temperature range of 350 degrees F, bake the cake until it is light golden brown. This should take about fifty-five to sixty minutes.
• Let the bundt coffee cake cool for about ten minutes. Then place it onto the wire rack to cool totally. Using your confectioners’ sugar, splash the cake with it and serve.
