Antique chair- how old and what kind is it?
I bought this chair at a thrift store, the woman who owned it previously donated it as she moving into a retirement home, all the information I have on it is that she said it was in her family for quite awhile.
It’s not tagged or dated anywhere, I’ve searched it thoroughly.
It’s extremely light for its size, and the wood is sort of plasticity. If you pull the velvet back, the original color was actually blue, but it’s faded to this yellowish-green color.

Any idea when these chairs were produced, and/or what they’re called? The folks at the thrift-store said it was a “slipper chair”, and claimed they stopped being produced in the very early 1900′s, but that seems pretty vague based on a Google search. Thank you!!
its a victorian chair. im not real sure of the date but it was hand carved. i saw no repetition at all in the carvings.
