Since the table is 9 feet long and there is a 6″ overhang at each end, the tablecloth must be 10 feet long. That means that it must be 7 feet wide. The total overhang at the sides is therefore 7-4 = 3 feet. Half of that is 18″, so there is 18″ overhang on each side.
