I’m building a new house and i wanted some ideas on cool,technological and generally fun ideas for it.?
I have recently bought a large plot of land of which will i am going to build a 3,000+ square foot, three story Georgian house. As i am investing so much in this property i don’t want to build something bog standard. I already have a few ideas such as a starlight ceiling in the bedroom, built in sound system in every room, draw fridges in the kitchen,mood lighting,all the usual mod cons like american fridge/freezer, tv’s and consoles and maybe a fish tank in my bathroom?. i have thought about having a projector in the games room and designing it around great movies but i would like some more ideas, anything you have seen or have in your house that is cool please tell me so i can have look and see if it will contribute to my house. cheers Liam
I’m with Jim on this one. Building a house with renewable resources and energy efficiency will probably be a good idea. Things are not going to be getting better any time soon and energy costs are going to continue to go up. Being self sustaining will save you money in the long run. You can use things like geothermal heating and cooling, solar and wind electricity, building techniques to help cool and heat the house in the different seasons in relation to where the sun is in the sky.
