Why is King George III referred to as a tyrant?
I am unsure as to why King George is referred to as a tyrant. Why does the Declaration of Independence blame him specifically for all the taxes to the colonies etc? Didn’t the British Parliament force these taxes and laws among the colonists? King George could not control the British Parliament’s decisions, right? So why was he called a tyrant?

It was a form of rhetoric as the colonists knew who the King was but not necessarily who the members of the House of Commons were. Even today, I suspect many more Americans know who the Queen is than the Prime Minister of the UK.
King George III opposed the American War of Independence but so did his Ministers until 1783 and as far as could be determined the British public until 1779. The charge of tyranny is not a fair one but more a rhetorical advice as part of a political strategy.
