Where can I find a reference on the french flintlock guns from 16-17th century, a site with pictures and info?
I have an antique pistol that reads “G FRANCES” at its top barrel side. Couldn’t find any reference on the internet through Yahoo search engine nor any other engine whatsoever. I’m very interested in its origins and the age of the pistol. Also couldn’t find this model in any of the enciklopedia of the pre 18th century armament and guns. The gun has french emblems on its sides and on the handle and barrel as well. Would be delighted if somebody could give me a hint on where to search or look in. Thanks a lot
There is a big difference between Google and Yahoo…I suggest you put in “french flintlock guns/16th century” Besides…I believe the name G Frances is a name and has nothing to do with France…..(despite the emblems…I could be wrong)maybe you should exclude France and just put in “16th century flintlock guns”. Google really does search better…after that you might want to try MetaCrawler. Hope this helps.
