Saturday, May 12, 2007 was the best and worst of days for Jewell Godfrey. Early in the day Godfrey attended the college graduation of her daughter and later that night she was admitted to the hospital, where she later learned she had a rare form of cancer known as a gastrointestinal stromal tumor.
