Your Newborn’s Nursery is a Necessary Component of Your Family’s Chronicles
Ensure that the crib is safe by buying a new one that has been safety-tested, and be vigilant in looking for recalls. You may consider buying a crib from a friend or from a classified ad, but an older crib was built to looser safety standards than cribs built more recently. The traditional lovely crib contains rails that are wide apart so that the baby’s head could become lodged between them.
It’s a breeze to put the room in order when the design is uncomplicated and you keep a few additional nursery sets. It’s a good idea to have at least five different sets of baby bedding, because you may need to change the bedding late at night; it’s much more convenient to be able to get a new, clean set of bedding.
If you have several sets of baby bedding, you won’t have to worry too much at laundry time because you won’t have to do emergency loads of laundry to give your child a clean place to sleep. Being prepared will make you feel much better when your baby spits up in their bed in the early hours of the morning. It will be easier to care for your baby if the room is simple. Nursery themes is best done simply, with some small decorations and pictures, so that it does not look overdone. Only get furniture, drawers or shelving that are necessary.
Too much shelving can lead to excess clutter, giving the room a disorderly feeling. Just remember, if you have too many accessories, wall hangings and decorative objects, it will create more work through extra dusting and cleaning. Since you’ll have plenty of work simply caring for your new infant, design your nursery to be as pleasant and easily maintained as possible.
Plan on having fun as you select nursery wall colors, accessories, and crib bedding. The nursery should be a relaxing place for you and your baby to spend time together. Make your baby’s room clean and large enough to move around easily. The quality time you spend with your baby will create lasting memories, and enhance your baby’s well being.
