I have an old dining set(antique) sound but squeaky.How can I fix the squeak. the whole chair does wobble.?
I bought an antique dining set of mahogany the chairs wobble and squeek when you are sitting on them. How can I fix this without devaluing the set.
If you are, or know a wood worker, ask them to reglue and clamp the joints. Use a good woodworkers glue, like Elmers.
Keep the chairs clamped for at least 24 hours, unclamp, and enjoy. This will not devalue the piece, and the chairs will be nice and solid.
Do NOT add screws! Also, if the chairs are taken apart for the reglue process, make sure you save them and reinstall the way they were. In other words, keep the old hardware in place.
